Two young ladies were denied admittance onto their United Airlines flight because they were wearing leggings. Social media backlash was swift when news about this incident hit. People questioned whether United was suddenly in the business of policing women’s bodies. United stood behind the incident, saying that they have the right to refuse to let a passenger on board, for the safety of the rest of the passengers, if the passenger is barefoot or “not properly clothed.”
